DIY: How to Style a Lampshade Makeover

Don't throw out that old lampshade....re-purpose it! This re-purposed lampshade looked dull and dingy before. In my tutorials, I'll show you how to give it a fresh look.

The lampshade base was painted in Vintage Duck Egg Blue with Dixie Belle chalk paint. The finishing touches of birds, branches and blooms using IOD stamps for this sweet lampshade bring about this makeover to a style transformation that will have you running to your storage room to dig out that old dingy lampshade, and create your own masterpiece. You can check out my blog for color details.

I scored two of these matching drum lampshades at a second hand store for 2.99 each, and can picture them hanging from the ceiling over the side tables in a bedroom. I ❤️ them so much, it is hard for me to not keep them for myself instead of selling them! Time involved for doing the pair of lampshades was around two to three hours. Allowing for dry time of paint.

Before and after colors!!!
Who doesn't love a great before and after image? Love the color transformation... but you really need to see the stamped on birds, branches and blooms towards the end of this post!

Where can I find the stamp that you used? Thank you

What medium do you use with the stamps, ink (what brand?) or paint (what type?). How many coats of the blue paint did you use on the shade? I love this project and want to try it on an antique lampshade.
