DIY Leaf Plate

Having loved leaves and trees for as long as I can remember, I created a simple autumn leaf plate using air-dry clay.
Use cardboard or a canvas designed for clay. DO NOT USE WAX PAPER to roll out your clay.

Knead clay like bread a few times. Shape into a ball. Flatten into a disk. Roll with a rolling pin.
Add your leaf to the top of the clay, cut it out, and deepen the impressions.
Use a bowl or plate to mold your leaf plate to the shape you desire.

Be careful of the edges. Clay can be sharp when dry. Allow to dry completely according to manufacturer's instructions.

Paint with acrylic paints. Allow to dry. Seal.

Please see the blog for additional details and tips for a successful and pretty leaf plate.
