An empty olive oil bottle was the inspiration for my project. I loved the sleek lines of the bottle and I could see something beautiful behind the ordinary exterior.
Step 1/ clean the surface of the bottle of any label and glue. I then put a ribbon of masking tape around the neck and base of the bottle.
2/ A coat of blue spray paint is then applied. Do be careful, spray outdoors as paint tends to be a little messy. Keep your pressure even as over spraying can lead to an uneven finish.
Having removed the tape, I then carefully covered the blue to leave the ribbon around the top exposed, and exposed the bottom of the bottle. I then sprayed these exposed sections silver.
3/ This is the stage I enjoy most, decorating the bottle! Having gathered a range of cuttings, I then carefully stuck the selected pieces onto the bottle using craft glue. Please allow for drying overnight. Thereafter finish with a coat of clear lacquer to finish.
4/ Finally, stage your bottle to show it off to best advantage! I placed it on a glass plate with other colour co-ordinated objects.
I loved this one so much, I'm working on another!
