Gold Dipped Party Glasses

Want an inexpensive, easy hostess gift or personal touch to your party? Look no further! Get here! I found these basic stemless water goblets at the dollar store, for $1 each.
Using this metallic gold enamel paint I made an quick transformation. Be sure to get the paint that says dishwasher safe...you can find it in a variety of colors. I turned the glasses upside down and freehand painted a uneven "dipped" look across the bottom. It does take two to three coats for full coverage, be sure to let each coat dry completely before moving to the next.
Once they are dry you bake them in a 350 oven for 30 minutes (follow the instructions on the paint bottle). VIOLA!!! A super fun and easy gift or party addition.
This project was part of a Fun Things To Do On New Year's Eve post on my blog. They are great ideas for all kinds of parties, not just New Years!
If you want to see other thrifty makeovers, like what I did with this garage sale cutting board I scooped up for $1 head over to the blog. I'd love to DIY with you!
Enjoyed the project?

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
So, these are painted, not dipped, correct? Enough metallic gold to dip these in could cost a lot and might be wasteful unless the glasses could drip back into the dipping bowl. On your blog, I saw a caption that was something to do at parties. Using an oven, to you think 12 glasses is reasonable in an evening? And, finally, are the glasses turned upside down to cure the paint in the oven? Best wishes 😇
