Is this your year to get organized, clear out clutter and stash your stuff away in style? Transform everyday store-bought storage baskets into ones that match your decor. Learn how to use fabric to create your own basket liners...without a sewing machine...to create a cohesive, organized look in your closet.
The baskets I was updating already had cloth basket liners in them. But the same DIY process applies to a basket without a premade liner.
Measure the length and width of the basket. Take your measurements to your fabric. Add 1-2" extra to the width of the fabric for the overlap. Add several inches to the length of the fabric. If your basket doesn't have a liner, please visit my site for alternate ideas to secure the fabric to the basket.
Go around the basket, pinning the fabric. Start at the back of the basket where the fabric overlap won't show.
With the fabric pinned, apply Iron-On Hem Tape to the outside raw edge of the liner. Stop by my site for how to secure the liner to the inside of the basket. For another easy fabric project, check out these easy Fall Fabric Pumpkins using fabric scraps.
