A Command hook is great. Put a hanging wire on the back of your bigger pics, use two hooks if necessary. The thickness of some bigger hooks will space the pic away from the wall, you can even it up with a few cut blocks of sponge on the back of your pic if needed.
For smaller pics there are command style pads that will hold the whole pic, no hooks necessary. Mark your wall with straight level masking tape first (trust me on this one ; )
