Raising a Cutting Board to Keep It Clean.

If you love clean counters but hate to move your cutting boards, this is the tip for you. It took about an hour and didn't cost a thing.
When my son in law worked at a granite store, he often got smaller pieces at cost. This was my first Christmas present from him. I love it. But as heavy as it is, it is often too heavy to move and clean the counters properly.
Crud gets underneath and gums up along the sides when I try and clean the counters.
So, I wanted to raise it. I used some E-6000 glue and some old wooden dominoes. I glued them together and to the bottom of the board.
I put 2 "legs" in the middle, too.
I then weighed them down with cans of food for about 3 hours.
The finished product is a cutting board I can clean under.
I even have a special lid that I can slip under to scrape things of into. This has been a great help as I hate sticky or dirty counters!!
Suggested materials:
  • E-6000 glue   (Had it at home.)
  • Wooden dominoes   (In my craft room.)

You are welcome. I find that having the shoe box lid underneath has helps so much!! Kind of like the grease catchers under the little grills!!
