Summer Dollar Tree Thermometer

I absolutely love a craft that is both fun and inexpensive. If you're the same, you'll like this project! It's pretty standard here in Arizona to have patios and pools, and I figured this would be a cute idea for those Arizona summers.
This is all you'll need!
Start by brushing some black paint onto the edges of the thermometer. It will give it a cute weathered look. Apply the paint unevenly, and don't let it dry!
Then grab some cinnamon, yes- cinnamon! Sprinkle it over the wet paint and allow it to dry with the paint.
Hello faux rust! I love this technique. It also has a bit of texture which is fun.
Once it's dry, wipe the loose cinnamon off. It will now look like rust spots.
Next, center the thermometer in the middle of the board. (If you are using vinyl lettering, lay that out before screwing down)
I used the vinyl letters on the top and bottom of the board with a fun Arizona saying!
Flip it over and add the picture hook to the back.
These where a hit so I made a few as gifts! It was so not an expensive craft and it is a great gift for the summer.

I'm going to make one for our state-Oklahoma. It'll say "it's not the heat, it's the humidity"!
