Tie-Dyed T-shirt Quilt Picnic Blanket
Tie-dye t-shirts as a fun summer craft project you can do with your kids. Then turn the t-shirts into a picnic blanket.
You can use old or thrifted t-shirts (or buy new ones) to make this picnic blanket. The t-shirts are soft and make a comfortable picnic or beach blanket for summer outings.
Tie-dye t-shirts. I used 6 large t-shirts. The size of your t-shirts and the desired size of your picnic quilt will determine how many t-shirts you need. You can personalize your quilt by choosing your favorite dye colors and designs.
Using iron-on interfacing is the key to keeping your t-shirt fabric stabilized so you can easily sew it into a quilt. Because you use large squares and let the tie-dye patterns make the quilt pattern, this is an easy sewing project.
This soft picnic blanket is perfect for summer outings.
