Decorate Around a TV Using 4 Easy Steps

STEP 1: BUY/PAINT A TV CONSOLE

We bought our TV console on Facebook Marketplace for just $35! It was in great shape but needed some TLC, so I painted it white.

If you already have a TV console but it is outdated, a fresh coat of paint goes a long way. Tip: paint your console white. I paint most of my outdated, wood furniture white, and it always turns out nice.

If you need to buy a console, I suggest checking out thrift stores or Facebook Marketplace, if you want to get one for a good deal.

STEP 2: ADD A PHOTO GALLERY WALL ON EITHER SIDE OF YOUR TV

Adding a gallery wall can be a super budget-friendly option if you buy frames cheaply. I bought my 11x14 frames (for 8x10 photos) at Walmart.

Then, I printed black and white photos at our local CVS.

Tip: use black and white or sepia toned photos for a more elegant look.

STEP 3: ADD PLANTS OR CHAIRS TO CREATE BALANCE

After you add photo frames on either side of your TV, you'll notice it becomes a bit unbalanced if your TV console is small.

To give it a more balanced look, add something like plants or chairs under the photos.

I chose to add plants with plant stands because I had them on-hand. I just moved them from one room to another. Shopping your own home is a great way to save money.

I really do like the addition of plants because it adds some life, literally, to the room.

STEP 4: ADD DECOR ON TOP YOUR TV CONSOLE

If you have a high-hanging TV like me, then you'll have a large gap between your TV console and TV.

If you leave the console without any decor, it will look a bit funny.

Add some fun decor, like candlesticks, a basket with photo books, or flowers.

I love the end result, and am so happy with how it turned out!
