DIY a Fall Planter Display on a Budget!

I love having Fall decor outside just as much as I like to have it inside! This past weekend at my local garden center I lucked into some clearance plants that I knew would be perfect for adding a warm fall welcome outside! Here's how:
All my supplies loaded up and ready to roll! I knew this would get heavy once it was styled so I wanted to put this together "in place."

My wagon makes moving everything in one trip super easy!
The plants are the stars of this display and were such a deal! Like this mum for $3!
I also found a mix of fall plants for $5. I will be able to get a lot of "bang for the buck" from this one!
Yep, that's a $3 written on that pot! So that's $11 for plants and honestly, the $5 plant will work into a few different arrangements so it's even better than that!
You want a big wooden container, old barrel, a wheelbarrow, or some such item to "anchor" your scene.

Place a few empty plastic pots upside to give you height. If I placed my plants on the bottom they would disappear I'd lose impact.

Every year I hang on to a few pots like these for just this type of thing!
Simply place your plants and pumpkins on the empty pots and voila! you have a warm and welcoming display!

Our local grocery stores are starting to carry pumpkins which is my favorite place for giant pumpkins. We got these 2 huge pumpkins for $8!

Add a few extra touches like a cozy fall throw if your area is covered or just for when company is coming over and you want it to look extra welcoming.

The smiling Jack-O-Lantern is from Lowe's. I bought it last year but noticed that they have them again this year.
An old birdhouse with a few more small pumpkins adds even more interest!
