Easiest Accent Wall Ever

2 Materials
1 Day

Using tape to create the easiest accent wall you will ever make.

Boring before

Here is a pic of the room before, it is just so blah! No character, no fun 😢

Clean area

First up I removed everything from the area.

Wipe off the wall if needed, I had to wipe down my baseboards because we live on a dirt road 😉

I am using satin white paint from Walmart to paint all the walls, and only the bottom corner of our accent wall.

This paint worked out great and it only took two coats.

It looks so bright and fresh already!

Time for the second coat

I find that the second coat is always the easiest.

Also when painting I start by rolling my brush down first to avoid the paint from dropping off the brush. (Just a helpful tip)

Tape off and paint the next color

When tapping I start from one corner and then straighten my tape from the other corner, it is much easier than trying to straighten the entire thing out as you go.

Next up I painted a thin coat of the white paint I used over the tape to avoid bleeding through.

Now it is time to paint the accent color you choose, I chose black but really you can use any color for all different looks.

I just love how bold the black is for a boys bedroom.

Two coats of paint

I used flat black from Walmart also, I only used a half of a can.

Now that the paint of dry, I added a simple shelf and a few decor items.

What do you think of this wall?

What color would you do for your home?
