How to Install a DIY Home Picture Hanging System
I love collage walls. Our theme collage walls were dismantled when we had to get the main areas painted. So, my husband and I wanted to try a new picture hanging system. This post shares the steps we did when making our collage walls using this picture hanging system.
Here are the supplies we used minus the rails. They were too large to find in the picture.
This is the track system that gets attached to the screws/caps and locks in place. Then the cables attach to the track system and slide on the track.
BEFORE Picture: This is the before picture after the painters were finished. We wanted to line up the artwork over the sofa, and this system is adjustable, so it made it easier for us to do.
Now it was time to drill holes. We measured ¾ inches down from the molding. And drilled about 12 inches apart from one another. Make sure you keep it level when making the holes. This will make it easier when you have to add the track later. Add the anchor to the holes, and then drill the screw with the cap into it.
Then, we added the caps at the end and clicked the tracks into place. Using the oblong caps between each track will keep the two tracks together. Snug them up next to each other, so there isn't a gap.
Hook the cables to the track and let them hang down. Space them out according to how you want them.
We started from the right and worked our way to the left, adding the artwork and cables accordingly.
