Joy To the World!

I bought the word Joy unfinished and gave it the look I wanted for Christmas to hang on the wall. It's so colorful and was fun to do and it didn't take long at all. It would really make a perfect gift and aside from the word, you probably have everything else you need already!!
I started off using blue painters tape to make stripes across the word Joy, and then painted the exposed stripes Americana Ruby and took the tape right off. After giving if some time to try, using a small paintbrush, I painted the other exposed stripes white.
I then took an old 25 cent gold frame I bought at a thrift store, removed the glass and painted it green. I sanded it down a little on the edges and raised parts of the frame. I took a pice of scrapbook paper that had green polka dots on it and cut it down to fit in the frame and put the backing back on. I then hot glued the word Joy in the center of the frame. Perfect Christmas cheer!
