Star Wars Shelf and Hyperspace Wall

My 5 year old son has been begging me to paint his walls in his room. He really wants a Star Wars bedroom, I guess he's a Jedi, like his father before him :-) I thought it would be fun to do a hyperspace wall. I painted one wall and the ceiling dark blue, and the other three walls light blue.
Everyone knows that you can't go through hyperspace without a fighter ship, right? I made a hexagon shelf to simulate a fighter cockpit, it should be round, but straight edges are easier to work with in wood. You can grab the free plans in the post, link at the bottom.
Using Silver metallic paint, I painted the hexagon shelf and stripes on the wall, that gradually got longer the farther they are from the center.
Using some Star Wars dingbats as templates, I painted good guy and bad guy ships and stars around the room.
We have more work to do on the room, including more good guy ships, says the 5 year old. You can check out more pics and tutorial, from the link below.
