If you have the room, use a basket for each person at the front door - that way when they come in, they can drop their stuff in their own basket!Helpful Reply -

Pinterest.com will have lots of ideas for entry way/ mini mudroom storage. An refurbished armoire or chest of drawers could offer a solution for shoes, backpacks, briefcases... and a shallow tray in a top drawer could be made into a charging station for cell phones, etc.Helpful Reply -

I like plastic or wood cubbies, large enough for shoes, hats, gloves, scarves and folded umbrellas, for each person in the house, with room on top of the cubbies for briefcases and books, and big hooks for coats, backpacks, and purses. I also like a small plastic trashcan to hold dirty/wet socks and wet umbrellas. Get completely dressed, including socks, then go to the cubbies to get dressed for outside and pick up backpacks to go. This would be a great place to place packed lunches or snacks for the day, also. ☺️Helpful Reply -

This was never an issue in my house. Everyone took their stuff to their assigned bedroom closet. If there's no room for a storage unit at the front door, then do that. You can also put hooks and a shoe bench in the garage by the door for everyone.Helpful Reply -
