That looks like it may be a Shasta daisy. Shasta daisies are short lived perennials which means that if you planted them last year they may reappear in your garden for another year or two before they die out completely.

Those are absolutely asters. Asters are a perennial, but grow wild in meadows here in Alberta--happy little purple wildflowers that bees and butterflies love! https://www.almanac.com/plant/asters
