BOHO Refurnished Wardrobe
Let’s DIY!
I found a simple wardrobe off of facebook market place and use it as a base to revamp and create something new.
This is a great project that can be adapted to fit your dresser.
Here is my beautiful after
This is what I started with
Step 1: The Dowels
▪️I got these dowels from the dollar store!
▪️The reason why it’s important to empty out all of the bags of dowels is because each bag may have different dye-lots. So one bag may be lighter or darker than another.
▪️To avoid a super patchy look I emptied all of the bags out into one big bag so I could mix them all together.
Step 2:
▪️remove all of the doors and hardware
▪️then start with just 1 dowel at the edge, add your gorillas wood glue and then line up your first dowel along the edge making sure it’s straight.
▪️spread the gorilla wood glue and using this first dowel start laying the dowels down
▪️line them up and make sure there aren’t any big gaps, hold them down until they stick enough to not move when you let go
▪️continue until you’re all done!
TIP: get extra coarse sand paper and sand down the top before gluing down the dowels. I didn’t do this (I have no patience 🙈) and I had to reglue a few pieces after the next step
LAST STEP! Step 3:
👏🏻 with your hand held baby saw, saw off the edges on both sides as close to the drawer top as you can get
👏🏻 next, take some sand paper and sand down the edges until smooth and even
