What is it with collectible toys these days? Every time I walk down the toy aisle at the store, I am overwhelmed by the number of blind bags/mystery bags filled with small figurines and tiny collectibles. I don’t remember this being a thing back when I was a kid!
.
I am a girl mom, but if you have sons, you likely have a whole slew of Star Wars figurines or army men or other boy-centered collectibles, am I right?

Over the years, we have collected a lot of these tiny toys… like a lot, a lot! Like over a hundred!

In my older daughter’s room, I set up two super simple shelves on the wall. All I did was screw two 1×2 boards right into the wall. It works, because she has a gazillion of these toys! I think seeing them all on display in a row is both practical (can see the whole collection) and attractive (serves as cute decor for a kid’s room).
I fell in love with the silhouette of this shelf. Doesn’t it look like a little doll house?
Simply sanding & painting it green gave it new life. I also decided to add on some decorative stickers to spell her name along the top.
I hung it up right on the wall.
It is the perfect spot to store & display her Hatchimals & Shopkins.
