Ralph Lauren Inspired Pendant Light

$25
Easy
I fell in love with a designer pendant light from Ralph Lauren but when I saw the price tag of $3000 it was not going to happen! I decided I could make one for way less...and I did. Mine cost $25!
This pendant light was easy to make from an old lampshade from the thrift store and a pendant light kit.
I gave the pulleys an aged copper patina
And I attached them with D rings and leather straps onto the lampshade
Hanging the lampshade from a pole made it easy to assemble the cords and position them evenly.
I used a vintage block and tackle to hang my DIY pendant light from the ceiling and wrapped the cord inside the attcached rope. There's an extra hook on the wall so the rope and cord swag a little.
This is an easy project and you can probably see how each step went from the pictures alone. I have a few more pictures on my on my blog, you'll find a linlk to the project in this post.

I was trying to come up with a swag light also. I have a big room with little light so I wanted some focused over a table in the corner. I hope I can create something 1/10 as good as yours. I was thinking of using a mason jar as the light "shade". Did you find the kit that has a light socket in it also or did you have to convert a pendant light kit into a swag light? and if so, where?
