In the future if I decided to paint a countertop I think I would go with one of the kits they sell now in most box stores. I've heard really good things about them and they come with everything you need to make it last!

The most important step is the prep. Make sure they are perfectly clean and then use a maximum adhesion primer like Bondz from Zinsser.

Yes, there are tons of kits out there. You can paint them a solid color or give them a granite or marble look. I've seen it done on so many blogs and often they post a few years later to show how they hold up and they still look great!
