You can paint them. You would need to prime them with a bonding primer. Them paint with latex enamel paint. You can also use a tile paint kit. Self stick wallpaper will work. But the tile imprint will show. Removing them would cause some damage to the wall but that can be patched.

You can definitely do it. Just make sure to clean and prep completely. I would probably go with a paint kit rather than wallpaper due to the grout lines.
You could put up beadboard painted to a color you'd like.

you can use tin ceiling tiles over the glass tile, you can use peel and stick tiles over the glass tiles as well
I had exactly the same thing. I covered mine in beadboard and Loctite adhesive. LOVE the look. Less tham $20 for a 4' x 8' sheet at Home Depot. Cut, Loctite, add trim. I added two coats of white paint over the white beadboard ONLY for protection so I would not worry about scrubbing food splashes off it.
Beadboard.

Do you not like the tiny tiles or is it the pattern or colouring you don't like? You can put sticky back plastic on each of the tiles, or stick larger tiles over the top of them bedded on tile adhesive and then grouted.
Yes you surely can. You just need them too be ready by cleaning and completly preparing them with using a paint kit.

You can paint them
Heavy duty wallpaper
I would use an actual stick on backsplash over them! You can find them on Amazon or hardware stores.
