A light sage green or a pop of color with a country blue with black hardware. Those colors are also fairly neutral.
This looks nice:

it depends on what colors you like! you could paint the cabinets in a shade of blue or blue-gray color, green- Let it Rain by Sherwin Williams is a grey-blue that is really nice as well as other colors they have in that shade
decide on what color you would like then explore different shades of that color to find the perfect match
I would go with a white on top and maybe a nice light gray on the bottom. The cupboard doors to me have a farmhouse / country feel and I think a white would accent that but also update them nicely. Some simple hardware in the finish to match your faucet etc would also be really nice!
That would depend on personal preference. I really like the navy cabinets or green. You could go with a cream color if you want something light. I would stay away from white. In my experience they are too high maintenance for a kitchen. I've had them before and would never go back to them again.
All that said, I would probably stain the cabinets a darker color rather than paint them but that is just me.
It's a personal preference, but I would paint them pale blue.
Go for a strong colour with all the white you can take it. to see if you like it colour, try it on the recessed mouldings. You might even find that will be enough colour? Have fun.
I'm about to paint my kitchen Lichen from Fusion Mineral Paint - It could look fabulous here too!
It is easier to change the color of accessories (or cabinet knobs) in a kitchen than changing the color of the cabinets. For this reason, I would recommend painting the cabinets a neutral color, as opposed to a definite color (such as blue or green, as others have suggested).
Light grey is trendy at this time, but whites are always timeless.

I am leaning towards painting the bottom cupboards blue and the top off white

A very light grey, beige, or even white would really lighten your kitchen area and go well with the recent updates.
I love the mismatched top and bottom look. I think it's classic and modern at the same time. I would go with a soft white on top and the blue on the bottom sounds lovely. I've seen some beautiful blue tones from Dixie Belle paints and they are very easy to work with...good luck!
I think dark

A pale grey or very pale green would look nice and wouldn't make your kitchen too dark
Since your floors have different shades of brown, I would go with a creamy beige.
One thing I have learned from painting cabinets in multiple houses: If you paint the lower cabinets a darker color, you will not be constantly wiping obvious drips and spots. Light or white cabinets show everything which is fine on upper cabinets, but lower ones catch all the spills and drips. While I know you want your cabinets to be clean, it is nice not to have to constantly be wiping them down. Choose color(s) you love and will not tire of. A good cabinet paint job should last many years. I personally love dark gray on bottom and pale gray or bright white on top. If you home has blue tones in your decor, choose a gray that has blue undertones if you prefer greens or tans, choose a green/brown undertone gray. Also, don't skimp on prep. Painting cabinets is worth the work, but it is a LOT of work. You do not want the paint to start peeling off because you didn't properly clean and prime before painting. Consider upgrading your hardware. It can make a huge impact for a relatively small amount of money. Best wishes. You're going to have a beautiful "new" kitchen.
We did ours green! See how here: https://www.aratariathome.com/blog/how-to-paint-kitchen-cabinets
Hi Joan, I did my bottom cabinets doors in a light blue-grey gorgeous with the actual cabinets being the same shade but darker. I did the top in a white with just a tiny, tiny hint of that shade in it. Again the cabinet doors were 3-4 shades lighter. The colorist at the paint store said they could do anything, so I put them to it. We had a lot of fun. It was absolutely gorgeous. I tried to attach a picture, but it keeps saying it’s too big and I don’t know how to shrink it. Throw it in the hot wash? 🤷🏻♀️
it is open plan kitchen so that means it is part of your other area that is visible .. It all depends what you are going after .. for a shock or wow factor ... I would paint white and accessorize for sure
It really is a personal preference. You might scroll through Hometalk or Pinterest to get an idea of what certain colors might look like. I went black myself and used a kit by Rustoleum which made it easy (no sanding). You can see how I did it here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2015/09/kitchen-cabinets-black.html
If you have a small dining room attached to your kitchen, then painting those cupboards white or any light colour would help in creating a bigger space.
