Without seeing exactly what kind of space you have to work with, it is difficult to give recommendations on what style of drying rack would realistically fit your room, and best meet your needs.
Here are some pictures of ceiling mounted drying racks that are raised and lowered with pulleys. They are a very good floor-space-saving option.
I hung a small piece of wire closet. I can use the flat surface for items that need to lie flat, clothes pins for socks & underwear, hangers for items that can be hung to dry.

Form the oblong or shape you require with timber, the drill holes in long ends to match, so you can thread dowel or broom handles through.
