Paint Brick Fireplace

Here is the progression of work on our fireplace. First three taken with
the Fire Tablet, and the last one with a real camera.

Beginning with taping, and priming the brick. Next with all white primer,
then black paint applied. Final image I took to show how it looks after
completion. This one included some touchup of the yellow paint, where
black paint encroached under the tape.
The first thing I did was I taped around the Fireplace and the brass fireplace insert.
Then I applied Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 primer to brick. This product went on very well and covered the brick completely.
I tried Krylon Black Satin to Primer brick. This was a disaster, very thin and ran like crazy. So then I purchased Sherwin Williams Infinity in Black Satin at Lowe's, and this paint worked as expected. It had excellent coverage, and texture. So I stuck with that- success!
Finished Project.
This is the way it looked after the whole makeover was complete. Not sure whether we will paint the hearth or not. Any suggestions on this will be appreciated. But for the moment, we are quite happy with how it turned out!

Blue Painters Tape used, then I used Frog Tape for sides by the wall which worked much better than the blue tape.
