Today's furniture makeover project I am sharing is a clients coffee table they purchased used and asked us to refinish for them. I was super excited when they told us they wanted us to strip and re-stain with the new Saman Clay... as I've been dying to used this colour!
Step 1: Clean and chemical strip the finish.
Step 2: Now time to lightly sand and make a few repairs on the drawers.
Step 3: I stained the entire piece with Saman Clay Stain ... I used a 8oz bottle and it only need about 3oz to do this huge coffee table!
Stain colours are difficult to photograph but if I had to describe this stain colour it's definiatly a very dark grey-black.... reminds me of Superior Paint Co. Cast Black or a cast iron pot.
Step 4: After the staining we applied 4 coats of Saman water-based Varnish and finished by adding the newly refinishing hardware.
