I’m confused — are you taking down the tracks and want to put in pendants or replace the lights in these tracks with pendants? There are lots of great pendants for tracks but you can also replace the whole fixture. You can take the whole light part out, stem and all, and replace with pendants.
I would take the track lights down, repair the ceiling and replace with Pendants
Hello, you can just add in the pendant light where the track was, hope this video is what you are looking for,

I agree that I would completely remove the tracks, repair the damage and install the lights you want where you want them.
Yes I would replace. They have gotten so good with track lighting now, the big bulky older track lights are heavy looking on the ceiling. Not sure what you are asking but I agree, remove tracks, replace them with LED type track lighting or another pendant light where you want it.
Take down the track and lights, repair and install what you prefer. If you want to put pendant lights hung from the track it would work but might look a bit scattered.

Are you leaving the track and attaching pendant, or are you removing the track and adding a pendant at the junction box? Be prepared to patch holes and possibly repaint ceiling if removing the track.
see if this helps you https://homeguides.sfgate.com/remove-track-light-fixture-36725.html
You can twist the whole light fixture out of the track and then easy to work one. Once removed you can look into what you will need to modify the light.
