Make A Simple Purse Wreath
If you have an old purse in your closet you have the beginnings of a fabulous door wreath. I started my door wreath/display with a straw handbag I picked up at the thrift store.
Those flowers sure look pretty now but they didn’t look so hot on the thrift store grapevine wreath.
I purchased the straw handbag at the thrift store a while ago. The top binding on the left side of the purse is coming apart but that’s easy to hide.
I purchased this ragged looking grapevine wreath at the thrift store a while ago. I wasn't really crazy about the oblong shape but the flowers were pretty.
Taking the wreath apart was super easy. I tossed the ribbon and kept the flowers. I wish I had kept the green ribbon to use as a hanger for the purse wreath but I tossed it out. Just goes to show.....never toss anything.
I placed the flowers in the straw purse and hung it on the door. Only problem is the flowers stems weren't very long and the purse was flat towards the bottom. I took the flowers out of the purse and stuffed the bottom with newspapers.
Next I arranged the flowers in the purse tweaking them until they looked just right......at least to me.
I hung the wreath on the door using a metal wreath hanger. I have several wreath hangers in various colors.
If you like this wreath idea you will love my shutter wreath you can find here.

Clever ! I think there is a straw-like or crochet purse I no longer use in the closet. Thanks for sharing. It is perfect for spring and summer.
