I wanted a stand to store the soaps in the kitchen and decided I would make one on a budget. I found the pieces in a dollar store and it took less than five minutes to assemble!

These are the pieces I found; a small plate and a ramekin dish. They cost less than £1 each and were the perfect shape for what I was looking for.

First I removed the labels and measured points on the bottom of the plate for the dish to be placed centrally. I marked the points with a sharpie so that I could quickly place it down in the correct position before the glue cured.

I applied glue to the bottom of the dish using a hot glue gun.

And then immediately place the dish in the position previously marked and held for a few seconds for the glue to cure.

I added my hand soap, dish soap and brush and put in place by the sink.

The finished look! I love how this turned out and it fits everything perfectly.

I feel like this area of the kitchen will look a little tidier now having these items raised off the counter.

I also love that this could be used in so many different ways and for displaying/storing different items in various rooms! It could also be used as a cake stand to display food items. This was so quick, easy and cheap to make that I’m definitely considering making a few more for use around our home!
