I'll start with the knife drawer since that is one thing that constantly got on my nerves. No one needs to be fumbling around in search of a particular knife all of the time! For that matter at any time!

Today, let's talk about organizing the very small drawer space when you have small standard cabinets and drawers in the home. What can be done to make for quick and easy access to your kitchen tools in these drawers! Hey, these gadgets could help organize in any size drawer!

Before!

Look at this mess. Knives in total disarray! Quite a dangerous situation and I'd been dealing with it for years, yes years! Maybe I got used to working around it but it took lots of time trying to find just the knife I was looking for! I can't believe it took me so long to remedy the problem!

Awful Mess, I've gone through

STEP 1: The first thing you need to do is to evaluate your kitchen tools and place like items in same drawer. Then take the time to see which items you use often and which you seldom use. If you have space separate those into other locations. The ones you no longer want, give away, donate, or sell.

STEP 2: Next this is a very important step: Measure width, length, and height of each drawer. Keep in mind the height clearance and any wood or intrusion that may lesson the height when the drawer is closed.

STEP 3. Now that you have your measurements it's time to shop for a good insert that will fit your drawer.

STEP 4: Purchase your storage insert.

This is the one I chose and I really like it! I purchased this one from Amazon https://amzn.to/3cpIyQ7

STEP 5: Clean your drawer so you can start out with a clean place for the insert.

Hibiscus House now has neat knives!

STEP 6: Place your knives in the slots and enjoy!

It was fun just finding a home for my favorite knives! https://www.hibiscushouseblog.com/

Neat at last!

Oh my yes I'm happy to have them in order. To be able to walk up to the drawer lift and pull up the certain knife I'm looking for and not risking cutting my fingers off. Oh yes I love it! The knives on the right I've laid down facing in one direction. They all have sheaves.

It may not be perfect, but it sure is for me!

Another view!

I am well pleased!

I have this...Its a 3 piece set,, one for knives, 2 for silverware.. Wish a little longer in the drawer so it wouldn't move around and also the top row for the teaspoons and small forks isn't long or deep enough they fall out. But I still like it..it neatens up drawers..I've have these for months.

    Hi Michelle,

Oh wow you got the 3 piece set! That is cool. Yeah I have a little trouble with my narrow short drawers in my utensils one. My butter knives have really bulky handles. They do neaten up the drawers.. Good to hear from you!
