How do i redo my pantry?

I went to TJ Maxx and Marshalls and bought clear containers that come in all sizes and depths to organize and I use glass Mason type jars for dry goods - we put a rack on the pantry door inside to store seasonings etc here is info

You're fortunate to have a pantry; however, one as deep as yours may make best use of handy space by having shelves built on the 3 wall sides to create an upside down :U" with open space to step in slightly to retrieve items of the back shelves. I have a very deep pantry and find myself struggling to locate items at the back of the deep shelves. Hope this is some food for thought! :)

I think some of your shelves might be wasting some space, too high. I would go to Dollar Tree and pick up some baskets and some of the tiered wire shelves to group items together.

It's not the organization that is the problem...I want to make it a little more user friendly. It looks unorganized due to the craziness of the remodel.

I would take out the wire shelves and put in plywood shelves. Definitel make the shelves U shaped. I would go to Dollar tree and get some baskets and some storage containers. Put in a spice rack on the door.

We put a half shelf in our pantry. That gives more storage space and helps eliminate the wasted space or headspace above the shelf.

Also helps you be able to see what you have at a glance.

I put like items togather. Example, all the soup in one place, pasta in another, etc.

Are you going to put a door on the pantry? If so you can buy wire units that hold items no bigger then a can. That also lets you use normally unused areas and increase storage space.

The Mainstays Large Multipurpose Bin for $5.97 at Walmart is a great size for organizing in a pantry, and it's clear so you can see what's in it.

I use Dollar Tree organizers like the trays, bins and cubes for my clients I organize.

U shape won’t fit unless you have six inches deep shelves on the sides. That still would only allow 18” to walk in and that is a waste of space. How about two five feet tall, three feet wide by 12 inches deep wire shelves on wheels? Put them in side by side with the 12” sides facing the door. You could pull them out as needed and just roll them back in. Possibly add a shelf at the back of the closet about 68” high to store seldom needed appliances.

Having non grocery items at the front of the pantry makes seeing what is at the back difficult, and reaching in to retrieve any items there not convenient. Having the shelves mounted so far to the back in a pantry of this depth results in much of the interior space being not used or greatly underused.

I would first of all remove all the non-grocery items, and find another home for them, or at least contain only those that you use most frequently together on the lower shelf.

You might want to consider changing the spacing between the shelves, so that some are closer together. This will accommodate more items without having to stack so many on top of each other.

Sliding shelves will give you the most efficient use of the space, as the all items will be contained, yet more easy to reach.
