3 Materials
use regular ball jars, type labels on plain paper, cut, use clear taper (used for sealing boxes) and label! brown sugar stays sealed, fresh and great for portions and when we go camping we grab a few for our cooking over campfires!
These jars hold an entire bag of brown sugar perfectly. 1/4 1/2 1 cup sizes ball jars
Like canning I use a funnel to keep lids clean to seal properly the secret to keeping brown s8gar soft... no oxygen
after my jars are complete I make labels
I type on plain paper and cut with scissors or cutter which is much faster
I date each label and product to rotate older jars to use first
I use a clear packing tape - heavy duty roll with a taper I bought at Office Depot which last forever!
attach labels cheap easy and to remove labels put in your dishwasher for a few minutes and the labels peel off easily
sometimes I trim the labels closer for small ball jar storage
When I need brown sugar I have it! no lumps.... This last for a long time and when we go camping I grab a few in the size I need. no moister problems at the campground... the bag of brown sugar fits perfectly in to my selected sizes in photo. REUSE the jars over and over. I also reuse the lids and sealer rings. NEVER reuse lids when canning but storing and freezing... no problem. plastic may leach chemicals and smells... glass does not have this problem.
