Using a small container, combine about 1/4 c of Apple cider vinegar,a pinch of sugar, and a squirt of dawn,or whatever you have. Mix it up,cover tightly with saran wrap. I use a rubber band to secure it. When stretched out and secured, take a fork, and puncture a lot of little holes in the saran wrap. The vinegar attracts them, but they can't get out of the holes. I have made and used 2 when they got bad.

Fruit flies come in with your produce and then live in the drains of your home. To be rid of them, bag fruit/produce tightly when you come in and put it straight in the fridge. Do not open the bag until you are ready to wash and eat or serve. THEN clean your drains by spritzing Simple Green in ALL drains. If you only do kitchen drains and not the rest of the house, they will migrate to other drains. So spray them all with several squirts ,use concentrate if you like, I do. Do this daily for a week or so. After you do not see any more invaders, continue in case their are eggs to hatch that did not get the concentrate for 3 or 4 more days, every drain. After 10 days if you see no more, do the drains once a week as part of weekly cleaning. Simple Green kills them.

Have tried the vinegar. If you drink wine in the "economy size" bottles try leaving a little in the bottom. Sit it on the counter and simply cap and discard after it sucks up all the gnats and fruit flies or if you recycle then wash out and bait again. Have not tried with white wine.

This may sound super silly but I have been doing it for yrs! I hang a small plastic bag/ziplock with a couple Penny's & water above the front door to our house outside! Idk but I don't have them as long as the Penny's r hanging!😁 I live in Florida so it's & I swear those dang things multiply w heat, ggrrrr. I know it's silly but maybe give it a try.

I had a terrible gnat problem and the vinegar traps worked perfectly! Simply place a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar, a few drops of dish soap, and a tablespoon of sugar in a bowl and stir. Set your bowl in an area where gnats are prevalent, such as your kitchen or bathroom. This took care of my problem in just a couple of days!

This is what I do, wash all fruit and vegies when you bring them home and store all in the refrig except bananas. If there were any eggs on the produce they are now in the drain, to address this problem put 1/2 cup of baking soda in each kitchen drain and follow with 1 cup vinegar. When the fizzing stops rinse well with hot water for a min or so, cover the drains with a stopper. For the airborne ones, take a mice sticky cardboard trap and cut 1 in half with the plastic cover on it, peel off the plastic cover off 1 of these halves and place a piece of decaying fruit in the center of it, that will draw them. They will land and that ends the cycle.
