To repel gophers naturally, try putting a few drops of peppermint oil on cotton balls, and then placing the cotton balls inside tunnel entrances. Gophers do not like the smell of peppermint, so this non-lethal gopher control method is a natural gopher repellent that can help rid your yard of these subterranean rodents.

Bait the gopher into a live trap and release it far from your property.
Repel the gopher by placing castor oil pellets, peppermint oil, and fabric softener sheets in the burrows nearest your home.
We used a windmill.
Vibration will run them off. You can buy things to stick in the ground that will emit an intermittent vibration, or you can do as I and just mow a LOT. That will also run the moles off if you have them too.
If you think of them as underground mice or rats, it will be easier to accept your dogs natures and let them have fun and hunt. (Because the things breed like crazy.)

For a homemade remedy, mix three parts castor oil and one part dish soap. Add four tablespoons of the mixture to a gallon of water. Soak the tunnels and entrances to evict the moles and soak the holes to evict gophers. Castor oil is one of the most effective home remedies to get rid of these animals.

Since it’s been over a month, if you still have them, they’re eating grubs in your yard.
