We used to have a deer farm. Unfortunately deer can go pretty high. We had 12' fences.
Any cattle grade fence will keep out deer, but it needs to be higher than they can jump. If it is not cattle grade, they will crawl through it too. 8 feet is a safe height to keep most of them out.

We used one strand of electric fence around our garden and it did the trick.
