Open shelving
I would hang a large piece of art or mirror.
I've seen some people build a simple frame and staple a colorful shower curtain around it . It's simple and easy to do and can add a great pop of color to your wall.
Instead of putting something there because that is a trend put what YOU use in that area.
Ask yourself what is needed in that area (more seating, storage, etc). When you figure that out then look for what best fulfills those needs and looks good also.
What kind of tv are you going to put there?
Unfortunately, using a regular TV outside will eventually break it. Even under an overhang, the TV will be exposed to weather, humidity, and elements that will damage the internal components and void most manufacturer’s warranties.
What about a screen? Instead of a tv - you could project onto it. Simpler and more affordable. :)

Consider metal art pieces. I even used fireplace screens as art. Here's the link to what we did. Maybe it will give you some ideas.
I think a multi-tiered plant stand and custom sign would look great! Greenery works wonders :)
May garden shops have outdoor wall hangings...
I would put the tv screen up first and then decorate around it. I love the idea of a faux fireplace mantle underneath or a shelf. Then I would add two sconces - one on either side of the tv. They have solar and battery operated ones now, if you don't want to run anymore electrical on the wall.
Something artsy, like a painting or 3d wall art
Large clock where the tv will be hung. Then add a shelf below that can stay.
it all depends on how you use your place ... I would love to have faux fireplace and create another outdorr living room space
Go to At Home, Home Goods or Kirklands, The all have outdoor art and metal art.
It really depends on your taste and goals, as well as budget and ability to attach things to the wall. You could try metal outdoor shelving units and dress those up which avoids any attachments plus adds the ability to redo it as you wish.
How about some large black and white photos of Sean art or your family
