We bought this heavily used set for our back porch it really needed a makeover. Here's how we gave it a new look. Took the chairs apart, sanded, and refinished. Check out how:
The set was purchased from a hotel outlet. It is well made but very well used. We used it as is for a few years but it was on my rehab list. After hurricane Irma we had some rehab work to do on the wooden porch floor so I decided to tackle the table set also. We took all the wood screw out and soak in vinegar while working On the set. We took the metal frames, with were half green half black and painted them black. Same as the table base. Sanded all the wood and cleaned the put on Behr wood preservative from Home depot I already had the wood preservative so that keep cost down. We dried Off the screws and reinstalled them. Went together easy and the set never moved even out in Irma.
The finished project, it looks great on our back porch!
Suggested materials:
  • Sander, spray paint and outdoor wood preservative   (Home depot)
  • Had the wood preservative just bought a good spray primer
