As many of you know, we have recently moved our Heirloom Traditions Paint headquarters to a new building. We're very thankful to be through with the moving part and now we're on the fun part...DECORATING! And of course, we're doing it Easy DIY style. The store front had to get a little construction work done to it so we started with our conference room. You may seen our conference table on a past Hometalk Live. Its the one where we used Tissue Paper to create texture in the table to hide chipped veneer. The table turned out AMAZING! Now its time for our Facebook Market conference chairs to get a little love. We found these great, high end conference chairs on the market for $25 each! Most are in really good condition, but a few have some minor tears in the vinyl. No worries, we can fix that! Join us LIVE on Hometalk on Tues 10/3/17 at 8pm EST to see us fix the tears and repaint our vinyl chairs.
Here's one of the chairs. We're loving the black color so we intend to keep that but you can see the tears on the corners where the chairs have rubbed against a table.
Here's a closeup of the tears we're repairing. To start, we are giving these chairs a thorough cleaning to remove any surface oils. Then we are going to apply E-6000 glue to glue the torn vinyl back into place. It'll also act as a filler for any spots that have vinyl missing. Apply per the manufacturer's instructions and allow to thoroughly dry.
Here's that gorgeous table I was telling you about earlier. We're going to repaint these chairs in our Finish All color Cinder. Its a gorgeous matte black with a low luster sheen. So while these particular chairs aren't getting a dramatic makeover (black to black), they are getting repaired and will look like new when we are done. The best part of Finish All Paint, you literally cannot see it or feel it on leather & vinyl. It looks and feels exactly like the factory finish. Since we're not doing a drastic color change on these, 1 coat will likely do it just to cover the repaired areas and give the entire chair a fresh sheen. With 8 of these chairs to do, I'm very thankful for this one step paint that covers it all! No top coat required.
Here's another great example of what this paint can do. This is Finish All in the color Mason taking this grandma pattern chair to modern farmhouse. This painter didn't paint the wood on the chair, but you can absolutely paint that as well with Finish All.
Lastly, here is our inspiration project from Grey and Co. She repaired her bonded leather sofa with glue and painted with Finish All in Weathervane (charcoal). It was the most amazing transformation I've ever seen.
