Bedroom Armoire?
Looking to makeover this bedroom armoire.
my thoughts are to keep the nice circular design in the middle of the tall portion but I can’t figure out the color combo to modernize the whole thing. I’ve looked and looked for other ideas posted but haven’t seen any that pop out.
Does anyone want to share their ideas on paint colors or something else?
Thanks for the help!

The wood on this armoire is beautiful. What colors are in the room where it will be? Choose something from there. Clean it well and tape-off the center ovals before painting. You will also need to use a good primer to prevent the tannins from the wood bleeding through your paint.

you can distress it in whites or grays - paint it- it all depends on what you plan to use it for and your own home decor

Dixie Belle Paint has some great colors on their website and fabulous inspiration on their socials. Pros share their work and you can get some great ideas. This color is called Burlap and it would be very pretty...the piece has similar lines. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1213229459/burlap-paint-furniture-paint-by-dixie
I like the look of MCM furniture. I would sand the ovals and drawer fronts. Stain them a lighter color. Paint the case a medium gray or greige. Replace The pulls with more modern ones.

Here are some color combos for you to look at:

Even though it says it is for bookcases, you can get an idea of what might work in your room.
I love the inner ovals, I would sand and make them a lighter color with a stain, Minwax makes a good product.
Well, if you want to change the colour, you might want to look at some Wedgwood ceramic colourings.
Hi Janie, pick your favorite color and on that contrasts OR compliments it, Or you could do monochrome in your favorite color. Chalk paint would look awesome on this!

I would go for Grays and White or even black and white would be striking. However it all depends on the colors in your room. Look at your comforter and choose 2 main colors.
Thank you for all the ideas. I think I was asking specifically about keeping the inner oval but wanting a modern look. I like the idea of sanding the oval down and maybe front of drawers but painting the rest in a neutral grey or beige. I will plan to change the hardware to a modern look too.
Feel free to keep the ideas coming.
thanks so much!
I would paint with a teal or turquoise color that would pop, leaving the wood inserts.
i like the inlay pieces with the different color. i have some pieces like this and would like to keep the different color and do something with the other part. I think you would have to use about the same color or it wouldn't go well together. Guess I havent been much help..Maybe someone else will help us.
Where do you plan to keep this piece? You could select shades that are similar to what's existing on the walls but slightly different for contrast, or go in a total opposite direction to make it stand out. You could try getting the piece prepped and primed; it could be then the colors hit you.
The piece will go against a light grey wall. I am mostly looking for ideas of how to make the circular portion stand out with making the whole piece more modern / updated in style.
