Can I add wheels to my chairs??
I have heavy wooden dining chairs, I added a beautiful rug underneath. My problem is the chairs are very hard to scoot or move even when sitting in them to move away from the table. Is it possible to shorten the legs and add wheels?

Before you try wheels you might want to try a different product. You can get caps that go on the bottom of the chairs that are super smooth and will help the chairs slide. Magic Slide I think is the name of one of these products.
Another option to this dilemma may be to purchase clear plastic mats designed to go under chairs and on top of carpet. These are commonly seen with desk chairs in rooms with carpet.

You can add casters to make them roll. https://www.hunker.com/12296362/how-to-add-casters-to-a-chair
Yes you could do that

You could possibly add wheels to the chairs and add risers to the table to raise the height of the table.
I would also maybe try the chair glides or putting a plastic mat under the chairs so they can slide more easily. Good luck!
Rather than wheels, consider adding slides to the bottom. You can get some that you tap into the legs with a hammer (tack is part of the slide). This will allow it to move easily and won't raise your chair height.
Hello Diana,
You can buy Casters for just this job!
Hi DianaV, your better off to go with some adhesive glides that are designed for carpets, easier to do, and way less work, here's a link to help you get some, hope it helps you out!

Get some Teflon glides instead, much safer and they’ll slide easily on the rug.
