Upcycling A Vintage Toy Stove

One of my favorite things to do when I was a little girl was to play house. I would spend hours in my room playing with my dolls, tending to my "children" and playing Mommy. I loved any type of toy that was home oriented. I guess I have been home oriented my whole life. When I found this vintage wooden toy stove on one of my treasure hunting excursions I just had to bring it home and give it a facelift.
I painted it a pretty pink with purple undertones and a soft cottage green. I decoupaged images torn from a vintage children's book to the front and added Pat-A-Cake Pat-A-Cake Baker's Man to the bottom.
This upcycled vintage oven is now ready for another little girl who loves to play house and pretend like I used to. I loved doing this makeover and would have been tickled to have had one like it when I was a kid many moons ago.
You can see more of this transformation on my blog.
