I've been wanting to do a staining of a compass rose table ever since I saw a post by Letitia Grace Lauer. Her "Lonely Library table", is to~die~for! i have tried shading with stain and I love the process. This is gorgeous work and I am inspired! Honestly, I have to say that of all the Pinterest, google, and countless other platforms that I use for new ideas, I rarely see one that is new and awe inspiring to me, but I am awe inspired! My daughter would love this and the Tolkien quote on the side is just perfect. I cant wait to try this with my daughters favorite colors. Thank you!! Your work is gorgeous!

I would like to have seen some instruction on this. Do you use just one color of stain? If so, how do you get the different shades.
