Does black pepper keep ants away?
I have a massive ant problem at the moment and would like to use a natural method of eliminating them.
Do you think black pepper would keep ants away?
Thanks

Yes. Black pepper or cayenne are natural ant deterrents.
Ants do not like Peppermint oil either. I used that in my kitchen years ago and they never came back.
Diatomaceous earth will get rid of them. Also, if you can find the ant beds you can cross them by taking a scoop from one and dumping on the other & they will take each other out.
I use Terro (orange box) from the diy store, they love it and take it back to the colony.
If they are indoors use Optiguard gel. Put a few drops in their path and they take it back to the Queen. You will not get rid of them until you kill her. Sprays only kill the worker ants and she just lays more eggs. It is a clear gel you put in their path and they take it home. If you problem is bad make sure you put dots where ever you see them. they should be gone in no time.
I personally haven’t heard of this but I know Terro liquid bait traps work near instantly.
I'm hear to agree with Terro liquid bait - they work awesome.
Not heard of black pepper, but paprika and chili powder can do the trick, so I don't see why not.

How to Get Rid of Ants With Borax & Sugar
Hi Sarah, Yes! Pull out the ground black pepper and start sprinkling it around your home as an effective ant repellent that won't create health issues for pets or loved ones in your home. Ants are irritated by the smell of black pepper, and it's very effective at killing them when mixed with water in a spray bottle.
