How do I enlarge an old immigration paper to wall print?
I want to get my daughter's great Nona's "immigration papers" from Italy made into a picture. The papers are fragile and I want to go to a place in person I guess.
I am looking to get them "blown up" into a large print - to be a little clearer. Any suggestions - The papers are from the early 1930's so fragile and possibly her birth certificate which would be 1900

I would make a copy of them first and then bring the copy to a store like Staples that can enlarge them for you.
What a beautiful idea! Check in with a copy store like Staples or Office Depot, they have the tech there to enlarge photos.
I would take a high-resolution photo of the papers. You might be surprised at the quality of a cellphone photo even. Then you can order the blown up print online. This would save you the risk of transporting the papers to a copy shop!
If you don't have a printer/copier at home, take them to an office supply store. The customer service person can help you get the documents enlarged to the size you want. They may digitize them and be able to keep the clarity you want as well.
Many places like Kinko's even Walmart can do this.
I needed something similar recently and Staples had a really cool paper that they enlarged on. It was like an architect drafting paper. It was thin, but it looked aged. Very cool. Just a suggestion.
I would go to a professional print shop like Staples and ask them what they can do.
Hi: First be careful with the original and take a photo of it. Then you can take it to Office Depot and have it enlarged. Hobby Lobby and Michaels used to enlarge to canvass prints. You might want to check that option out also. Or use https://www.megaprint.com/large-canvas-prints.php
That's such a wonderful and thoughtful idea! I'm not sure I would trust a copy store with a delicate original so I wold take a copy first, and then take it to have it enlarged.
You could have those papers made into wall paper:

Thank you so much for all the replies and links. Yes - I definitely will not want to leave the originals in anyone's hands!! I will try my own scanner but I question if the resolution is as good as a larger stores. I may even call a photography shop. I now think will surprise my husband also - it is his Nona !! My husband turns 60 this year in 2022 so it gives me lots of time to follow through. Target date set!
I would make a copy and then enlarge the copy
Hello. Lovely idea. I would suggest making a scan and then bring back to a print company or photo -poster company. This is like something you might see any museum. What a great idea.
First copy them then work from the copy’s to get them enlarged go to a printer
you can scan the photos and documents then send them to someone to print them that way the original is not harmed- if you don't have a printer that scans you can take it to a UPS store or Fedx store that has large scanners as well.
I would go to a printer instead of a quick copy place. They will be careful with them.
I would first get the papers scanned and then they can enlarge it. I would try a place like OfficeMax.

Oh wow, what a great idea! Take them to a blueprint shop if you can find one, a print shop, printer, office supply or a FedEx/UPS shop that can be trusted. Any of those can help you enlarge and print on bigger paper. Make sure not to leave the items there for the latter stores, be around for the process but the former shops will certainly be careful.
What you can do it to make a copy of it first then check in with copy stores such a Staples or Office Depot. They can enlarge it for you,
Yes, a blueprint shop runs large format prints for architecture and design but can run anything.
