Can you paint ceramic tile countertops??
Bought this home with ceramic countertops. They are ugly and grout is missing. I don’t want granite, but an inexpensive way to make it look better. Thanks.

You can definitely paint it. Just use an oil based paint or paint made for tile. The hardware store should be able to help you choose. Make sure you fix any grout first before you paint
Thank you so much!
Check this post out for tips. It's for a bathroom but should work for counters as well.

Painted Shower Tile
First, fill in all the missing grout. Then you can paint it there are some great tile anting kits on the market.
I would fill in the grout and then you could paint it like this: https://www.aratariathome.com/blog/painted-tile-tutorial-entry-way-makeover-part-2
You could use this kit to refinish it: https://amzn.to/2GcNwUW

Counters see a lot of wear and tear so make sure whatever you choose will hold up, like Rustoleum’s counter kit. It is paint though and will likely eventually wear or peel. If you like the concrete look, use a skim coat concrete, that’ll last much longer.
Thank you
There are kits available at Home Depot
Whatever tile painting kit you use, yes the grout needs to be filled and the tile must be super clean.
The directions need to be followed to a T.
Yes, it won’t last several years, but you can save up $ and have custom made plastic laminate ones made, since you don’t want granite.
There are literally thousands of pattern choices and you can get free large samples from Formica & Wilsonart.
Hi Marie, yes you can paint those countertops, here is a great video to show you how, hope it helps,
