Depending on the size of the bowl, I would think hairpin legs would work really great for this project.
Hairpin or very plain legs would work well so the legs don't over power or detract detract from the uniqueness of the bowl.

I've seen beautiful ones with hairpin legs and glass tops. The trick is finding or making a dough bowl large enough! They can be pricey!
