How can I upcycle a desk to use as a kitchen island?

Lake...Usually the back of the desk is unfinished as it is placed against the wall so I would want to cover with something to make it look nice since it is being used in the middle of the room. I would think there would be many different items that you could use to do that.. but you will want to follow you decor. Also you might want to extend the legs to make it higher and more workable even if you did a platform for it. I believe it would work but will require some thought. If you follow through with your project please send us a before and after pic. Sounds like a great project to me!
