Closet Doors Makeover

I recently painted my bedroom- including painting white the stained trim around the windows. The last step was to update our sliding closet doors. We gave them a whole new look.
This is what I started with. Update needed!
The first thing we did was my hubby took down the doors for me. I then removed the circular door handles.
Then I applied this wall covering primer to the doors.
This textured wall covering was purchased online from Bed, Bath and Beyond.
It was easy enough to apply. There is adhesive on the back, it needs to be activated with water.
I made sure to line up the sheets so as not to see the seam.
The wallpaper is paintable so I brightened it even more with some white paint.
Extra touches of detail with some decorative handles and hinges added for a “barn door” type look.
Here you can see the hinges. Looking good.
Our finished product! We actually added another set of hinges to the bottom for balance. It really brightens our bedroom! Hope you like it as well!

I have the same sliding doors in my kitchen. Would this work for them?

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Looks much better. Did you just paper over the hole where the original handles were?
The original inset handles are designed to pass by each other, allowing the doors to slide fully one direction or the other - how do your 3d handles work? Do you find that it's difficult to use the closet at all with it not opening fully?
Could you please link the wallpaper. Excellent idea
