This was my first time making a candle and let me tell you, it was so easy!! Why have i not done this before?! I really thought it would be a lot more complicated than this.

I need to pick up some interesting vessels so I can make more.

I started by gathering some old candle sticks I had in a drawer. I placed them into an old saucepan and melted them down on low heat.

I removed the wicks and put a nice long one aside to reuse in my candle.

I tied the wick to a paper clip.

I decided to add whole cloves to my candle for the scent.

I added a few drops of pumpkin spice essential oil to my melted wax in the saucepan.

I then poured a little wax in my vessel set the wick in with the paper clip resting flat on the bottom.

I used two popsicle sticks to hold my wick in place.

I added some more cloves and topped off the vessel with more wax. As the wax cooled I added a few cloves on top. It only took an hour for the wax to set and cool.

Let me tell you, it smells wonderful! I can see myself making some Christmas candles as gifts this year. There are so many pretty options for vessels too. I’ll also be saving my old candles and looking for them at the thrift stores to melt down.
