Pergola
So last year we got someone in to build our pergola and lay concrete - which he did a bad job of - he ordered Perspex for the roof of the pergola & measured it wrong costing us €500!!!
and he never finished the work - so my brother was up and said he would fix the back of the pergola and now I feel it’s fully finished (a fresh lick of paint and it’s done done)
So here’s before - you could see down to the back shed where we store out wood for our stove and our furniture we’ve picked up!!!
but I wanted to hide it
The wood was already left over and cut from the previous worker!!!
they just sat behind the pergola waiting to be put up - and here we are!!!
what you don’t see here is my Mam and brother holding up the wood to see if I’m happy (and to get a pic for you guys)
Oh and we also found a family of frogs living behind the pergola - they frightened the life out of us when they started jumping - they are sooo camouflaged!
no froggys we’re harmed in the making of this pergola we just finished the job and let them have their house back
Anyway back to
Once happy with the position my brother used extra long screws - 4 in each side!!
Again (you can see my brothers hand holding up the wood) he wanted to see did I want a bigger gap between the wood but I was happy with this
Screwing the second one in
The view from the front - the last guys had put up the Perspex but it had nothing to hold onto so with these 2 boards up we could screw the Perspex to these securely
These are the screws you need for the Perspex so they don’t split the Perspex
And here it is finished (as I said it needs to be painted) that’ll be another project
